Deburring Press Operator

Reports to: Team Leader, Deburring Department

Mission Statement:
The Deburring Operator uses hand deburring tools, buffers, grinders and sanders to remove small burrs from manufactured parts, according to AS9100 quality processes. A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required. Their work is essential in delivering parts of unmatched quality to our customers. As a team member on the Deburring team, you’ll work with experienced operators to learn the quality-centered precision deburring techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years. Through this critical role, you’ll advance your talents through mastering:

  • Build efficiency techniques.
  • Interpreting drawings and prototypes.
  • AS9100 protocols and processes for quality.
  • Growing your talent by cross-training on other machines and operations in the plant.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay: Starting at $12.00 per hour.

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision – with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts).
  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate shop resources with arms and hands.
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Use a table mounted buffer and grinder to remove small burrs from Manufactured parts
  • Use sand blaster to finish manufactured parts
  • Perform designated operation per drawing/work order/purchase order requirements
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed
  • Set up and tear down shop resources as need
  • Maintain a clean work area

Quality:

  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical guide and protectors to measure and validate the quality of your work independently.
  • Validate individual parts produced against customer specifications.

Process Improvements:

  • Learn Lean Manufacturing techniques to help the department eliminate waste and downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to determine ‘better ways’ to serve our customers.

Safety:

  • Mindfully follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of protective gear and material hazards handling to safeguard yourself and your fellow team members.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and set an example of our high safety expectations for new team members.

Mission Statement: The Quality Supervisor is a driven and enthusiastic employee to fill a position in our Quality Control department. Strong candidates must have a manufacturing background, demonstrated leadership experience and a ‘take charge’ attitude, working in a team environment.  At least 2 years of prior Quality experience is required, and experience within the aerospace industry, automotive or medical industry is highly preferred.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility

Category: Non-Exempt Employee, Full Time

Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage work order operations for inspection department.
  • Monitor Inspectors.
  • Perform designated inspection operations per drawing/work order/purchase order requirements.
  • Maintain Inspection areas.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding internal and customer drawings.
  • Understand customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Understand inspection activities, shop resources and inspection equipment and be able to train others.
  • Prepare Quality documentation for shipments.
  • Organize and maintain training programs for all reporting employees.
  • Participate in training programs provided by the company.
  • Receiving Inspection of complex aerospace fittings and housings
  • Generate First Article Inspection Reports
  • Final inspection of aerospace and government customers
  • Coordinate calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Pursue supplier delegate status with customers
  • Generate & complete PPAP inspection packages
  • Prepare customer ADRs/SNCRs
  • Develop new/improved inspection techniques

Pay: Starting pay is $12.50 per hour.

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision — with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts).
  • Must be able to remain standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate Lathe using both hands while standing.
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC lathes, mills and 2nd operation manual lathes to create parts.
