CAD Engineer

Reports to: Design Engineer

Mission Statement: The CAD Engineer is a self-motivated team member reporting to the Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree, will have demonstrated engineering knowledge and experience, ability to manage multiple projects and have 1-5 years’ experience in the engineering field.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Salaried Exempt Employee, Full Time
Shift: First (8:00 am – 4:30 pm)

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Must have 1-5 years in an Engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience using SolidWorks software.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position utilizes CAD systems to design engineering products or equipment. Assists engineers in the design, testing and implementation of products and processes. Incumbents break down information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings and instructions finished by others and convert the information into detailed drawings with section views and dimensions.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Sound knowledge of engineering design and develop principles typically evidenced by a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software packages.
  • Proficient in standard business related computer software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate on new technical ideas.
  • Detail oriented, hands on, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Maintain drawing files.
  • Determine material requirements.
  • Research material sources and purchase engineering process materials.
  • Participate in training programs provided by the company.
  • Ability to be an Internal Auditor.
  • Cooperate with engineering on tolerancing for components, internal assemblies and for fit into customer application.
  • Communicates with tooling, quality, engineering, and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.

Required Skills:

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to do independent research, synthesize findings and communicate the results effectively to management.
  • Ability to work with teams, coordinate with participants and keep projects on schedule.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, example CAMWorks.

Assembly Operator

Reports to: Team Leader, Assembly Department

Mission Statement: The Assembly Team Operator shears, forms, labels, counts, boxes and bags wire mesh or photo-etched stainless steel and finished parts, according to AS9100 quality processes. A minimum of two years prior manufacturing experience is required. Their work is essential in delivering parts of unmatched quality to our customers.  As a team member on the assembly team, you’ll work with experienced assembly operators to learn the quality-centered shearing and forming techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years. Through this critical role, you’ll advance your talents through mastering:

  • Build efficiency techniques
  • Interpreting drawings and prototypes
  • AS9100 protocols and processes for quality
  • Growing your talent by cross-training on other machines and operations in the plant

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Non-exempt employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay: Starting pay is $12.00 per hour

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements: 

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision – with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts)
  • Must be able to remain seated and/or standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to operate shop resources with arms and hands
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Use large, hand operated sheers and small chop shears to cut mesh into strips
  • Use various tools to form, shape, coin and assemble mesh and end caps
  • Accurately label, count, bag, and/or box small parts
  • Perform designated operations per drawing/work order requirements
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed
  • Set up and tear down shop resources as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area

Quality:

  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical guide and protectors to measure and validate the quality of your work independently.
  • Validate individual parts produced against customer specifications.

Process Improvements:

  • Learn Lean Manufacturing techniques to help the department eliminate waste and downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to determine ‘better ways’ to serve our customers.

Safety:

  • Mindfully follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of protective gear and material hazards handling to safeguard yourself and your fellow team members.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and set an example of our high safety expectations for new team members.

Follow-Through:

  • Serve our company, customers and fellow team members well by meeting or exceeding attendance and scheduling requirements.  Be reliable and accountable.

Kick Press Supervisor

Reports to: CEO

Mission Statement: The Kick-Press Supervisor oversees a team of operators, so prior Supervision experience is required. A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required. 

  • Schedule production operations in a department with 10 – 15 employees
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed as required by customer

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility

Category: Hourly Non-Exempt Employee, full time

Shift: First (7:00am – 3:30pm)

Pay: Pay is based on experience

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required.
  • Supervision experience is required.
  • Experience working in a scheduling role.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision – with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts).
  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate a press using a foot stomping motion while seated.
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working.

Kick Press Operator

Reports to: Team Leader, Kick Press Department

Mission Statement: The Kick Press Operator uses a foot-activated kick press to stamp, form, pleat and extrude parts according to AS9100 quality processes. A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required. Their work is essential in delivering parts of unmatched quality to our customers. As a team member on the kick-press team, you’ll work with experienced press operators to learn the quality-centered precision stamping techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years. Through this critical role, you’ll advance your talents through mastering:

  • Build efficiency techniques.
  • Interpreting drawings and prototypes.
  • AS9100 protocols and processes for quality.
  • Growing your talent by cross-training on other machines and operations in the plant.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay: Starting at $12.00 per hour

Resistance Welder

Reports to: Team Leader, Welding Department

Mission Statement: The Resistance Welder produces fine CDR welds of wire mesh or photo-etched stainless steel, aided by micro-video technology, according to AS9100 quality processes.

A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required. Their work is essential in delivering parts of unmatched quality to our customers. As a team member on the filter welding team, you’ll work with experienced CDR welders to learn the quality-centered micro-welding techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years. Through this critical role, you’ll advance your talents through mastering:

  • Build efficient techniques.
  • Interpreting drawings and prototypes
  • AS9100 protocols and processes for quality.
  • Growing your talent by cross-training on other machines and operations in the plant.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Non-exempt Employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay: Starting pay is $12.00 per hour

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of prior manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision – with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts).
  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate welder using a pedal while seated (like operating a sewing machine).
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Welder uses a foot activated resistance welder to create parts.
  • Perform designated operation per drawing/work order requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed.
  • Set up and tear down shop resources as need.
  • Maintain a clean work area.

Quality:

  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical guide and protectors to measure and validate the quality of your work independently.
  • Validate individual parts produced against customer specifications.

Process Improvements:

  • Learn Lean Manufacturing techniques to help the department eliminate waste and downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to determine ‘better ways’ to service our customers.
  • Learn to peer-review others and provide constructive feedback for improving overall team performance.

Safety:
