Production Control Manager

Reports to: CEO

Collaboratively, our team prototypes, welds, machines, assembles, cleans, inspects, mentors and manages the production of fine metal filters that prevent wear particles and debris from compromising sensitive systems. From our fuel filters that keep aircraft controls running properly, to reducing pollution emissions from marine engines, our filters are a critical system component in Aerospace, Fluid Power, Power Generation and other industries.

Mission Statement:
The Production Control Manager oversees all production scheduling for the company. Prior Production Control Management experience working in a Manufacturing/Aerospace industry is required.

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Salaried Exempt Employee, full time
Shift: First (7:30 am – 4 pm)
Pay Range: $50,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Engineering, or Manufacturing related).
  • 4 – 6 years of experience in a scheduling role.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Understanding of key metrics – planned/schedule attainment, fill rate, etc.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 and/or AS 9100 a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while maintaining optimum resource utilization that levels capacity and labor requirements.
  • Conduct weekly Production Control Meetings with Supervisors.
  • Balance current and future customer demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • Identify and inform management of capacity constraints, and recommend strategies to alleviate.
  • Maintain the scheduling system by the coordination of updated information and system parameters, as needed.
  • Monitor changes to customer orders/forecasts, and their potential impact to the schedule; manage dates on all planned orders.
  • Continual communications with production, sales and supply chain; respond to and keep each informed of potential problems and opportunities related to forecasted and non-forecasted orders and recommend alternatives.
  • Manage data and prepare reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.
  • Attend monthly Production Meetings.
  • Ensure safety stock and Kan Ban inventories are within acceptable range.
  • Manage the placement and flow of shop work orders to ensure smooth, uninterrupted flow to manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as required by CEO.

Production Supervisor

Reports to: CEO

Mission Statement: The Production Supervisor oversees scheduling for the department. Prior Supervision, Production Management, Scheduling or related experience is mandatory, at least 5 years. Prior experience working in a Manufacturing/Aerospace industry is preferred.

  • Schedule production operations in a department with 10 – 15 employees
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed as required by customer

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Hourly Non-Exempt Employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay Range: Starting pay range is $16.83 – $20.19 per hour

Qualified Candidates will Possess these Minimum Requirements

  • Due to ITAR standards, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • 5 years in a Supervisory capacity.
  • Experience working in a scheduling role.

CNC Operator - 1st Shift

Position: CNC Operator – 1st Shift

Reports to: Team Leader, Machine Shop

Mission Statement:
The CNC Operator must be able to work well on their own, with little supervision, according to AS9100 quality processes.  At least one year of prior CNC operator experience is preferred. Their work is essential in delivering parts of unmatched quality to our customers.  As a team member on the Machine Shop team, you’ll work with experienced CNC programmers and operators to learn the quality-centered machining techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years. Through this critical role, you’ll advance your talents through mastering:

  • Build efficiency techniques
  • Interpreting drawings and prototypes
  • AS9100 protocols and processes for quality
  • Growing your talent by cross-training on other machines and operations in the plant

Location: Wayland, MI – Manufacturing Facility
Category: Non-exempt employee, full time
Shift: First (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Pay: Starting pay is $14 per hour

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Must have at least 20/20 vision — with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts).
  • Must be able to remain standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate Lathe using both hands while standing.
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC lathes, mills and 2nd operation manual lathes to create parts.
  • Perform designated operations per drawing/work order requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on parts after completed.
  • Setup and tear down shop resources as needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area.

Quality:

  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical guide and protectors to measure and validate the quality of your work independently.
  • Validate individual parts produced against customer specifications.

Process Improvements:

  • Learn Lean Manufacturing techniques to help the department eliminate waste and downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to determine ‘better ways’ to service our customers.
  • Learn to peer-review others and provide constructive feedback for improving overall team performance.

Safety:

  • Mindfully follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of protective gear and material hazards handling to safeguard yourself, your fellow team members and set an example our high safety expectations for new team members.
